Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore. It provides a unique blend of mainstream academics and life-readiness skills to students aged 7 to 18 years old with autism and related learning disorders.
The school offers a mainstream curriculum leading to PSLE and GCE O & N-level qualifications, as well as a Vocational curriculum (for its own students only) leading to vocational qualifications.
The Bake Shop is one of several work sites set up for Vocational Track students.
It is an ITE-endorsed training centre, the Bake Shop is where vocational track students get coached by qualified pastry chef to prepare them for a career in baking. Students engage in independent learning enabled by work systems and work towards their ITE Skills Certificate in Baking Practice.
The Art Faculty (TAF) is a platform to promote the special talents of people with autism. Works of talented student artists in school’s Artist Development Programme (ADP) are featured here and these students earn royalties from sale of the merchandises, providing them a dignified stream of income.
